Here's the finished watercolor: "Rainy Street Scene in Summer" image size is 7.5" x 17"

My latest watercolor in progress

Here's the watercolor I'm working on now... come back and see the finished painting in a few weeks. The final painting will be 7.5" x 17" The close-up photo (with the quarter) shows how small it is. Why do I paint this way? Because I want to! There are easier (and more profitable) ways to make paintings, but I'm just doing what I believe I do best. I think that's what we artists are supposed to do.

April 9 Workshop is Now Full!

Thanks everyone for signing up; the workshop last Saturday was great, and I'm looking forward to the next one on April 9th! If you didn't get in (or you wanted to come to one but hesitated to register) LET ME KNOW! I can try to schedule another Saturday in the next month or two, but I need to have at least 6 people to make it worthwhile. Happy Painting!

Second Try on Posting New Album (the first one disappeared)

Giving me another reason to like paint brushes more than computers, this photo album disappeared after I posted it a few hours ago. Please comment on the ones you like best, and help me decide what to paint! Here goes another try...

"End of Winter" Special Sale on New Kozar Artwork!

Hi Everyone!

Over the past several months I've had a productive time getting new paintings finished (which is more than I can say for my pathetic attempt at blogging...). I'm having a BIG special sale on my web-store starting today (which is also my birthday) until March 20th. There are three new Signed and Numbered Prints that are 40% off (shown on this page), plus all of my other Signed and Numbered Prints are 30% off! These are my highest quality, large "giclee" prints on paper (not on canvas). You can see them in detail on my web-store.
I'm really excited about the new paintings I'll be doing this year. I haven't had as much commission work (which also makes it hard to pay the bills) but I've been able to paint a lot more of my own ideas-and there are more new paintings on the way.

I hope this message finds you doing well. I'll be in touch in the next month or two with my calendar of art shows, too; I plan on doing a bunch of them this Summer and Fall.

Help me pick the new paintings for the New Year

Hi Everyone! I've wanted to do this for years-now I think I figured it out. If you go to www.facebook.com/stevenkozar you can view my photo album which has 15 images that I'd like to paint. I can't paint them all, so let me know which ones are your favorite! Only pick 3 or 4 at the most (or less), and maybe you'll see your favorite one available as a painting/print in the New Year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Steve

(White) Christmas Open House!

Hi Folks!
Just a quick reminder-my Christmas Open House is tomorrow (Friday the 4th)from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday 10am to 7pm. The snow should have ended by then, leaving us a Winter Wonderland-it might just look like a Kozar painting!

Also, if you can't make it to the Open House but still want to visit just give us a call-we'll have lot's of things available during the weeks before Christmas. We don't have regular hours, but we're here most of the time, so call anytime. 608-838-8963

Merry Christmas and to all a good night!

Only Three Shows Left...

Hi Everyone-just a quick post here (no video). I'll be at Hilldale for the art show there this Saturday (the 7th) from 10am to 9pm and then on Sunday (the 8th) 11am to 6pm. Next weekend I'll be at Monona Terrace for the Winter Art Festival; Saturday (the 14th) from 9am to 5pm and Sunday (the 15th) from 10am to 4pm. Finally, My Christmas Open House is Friday Evening December 4th from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday all day from 10am to 7pm at my home/studio. My Christmas Open House is always a blast, and this year you'll get to see my barely finished gallery and my greatly enhanced studio. My son Andrew and I have been working real hard on making my studio more spacious and organized-wait 'til you see it!

Also, I'll be at the Robert Rae Gallery for an opening night event on November 20th; Andrew and I will be playing guitar to entertain (and enthrall) you!

Hope to see you soon!! Steve
